Hello Everyone, This is my first post on the freestyler forums.
I have not been using freestyler for very long, so i am not that familiar with it yet but i am working on it. I would like to know how to set up a light show that is synced with music. Like a band or prerecorded. I would like be able to program a show for a song then hit one button and have the whole show run by itself.
You are looking for somekind of timeline programming, FreeStyler does not have that feature. You can run sequences/cues to sound using the Sound 2 light tool, but it wont automaticly start new cues or sequences.

There is a way to timeline in FS but it requires knowledge of midi commands in FS, the knowledge of making cuelist buttons in FS and the knowledge of adding midi triggers to the audio source you are using So I can be done (sort of) but it would take ages and ages to do and really is not worth it.
I always wonder why people are so keen to have a sequence or cues that work specificly to a peice of music. However you do it its so difficult and time consuming to do. Its a bit like making a cartoon, frame by frame ......

What if you just read the manual (help file) and look how to use external controls like keyboard shortcuts and/or midi control.
Also lots and lots to be read about that subject on this forum.

It can be done, try to break your set into small sections and program them. then put it all together. As sais above a midi controller will definately help.
