Hello all,
in general, I think I saw similar question asked already here on the forum, but let me explain my requirement, so perhaps someone will have a suggestion or helpful hint how I can achieve expected result, perhaps using another approach and way of thinking:
I have multiple LED bars controlled over DMX, and each of them has assigned unique channels as I want to have full separate control for each one. In this case, 8 DMX channels are in use. These LED bars are in the same main group and also added to other smaller groups of these bars.
However, I would like to enable control using rotate knob on my MIDI controller to let change the value on the 6th and 7th channel for all of these fixtures. This means, the expected behaviour would be: change MIDI channel xx value and change DMX channel value for channels 7, 17, 27, 37 (just an example) at the same time, as a result.
The reason for it is that these bars have built-in effects (like many nice combinations of chase for example) controlled over DMX channel value. So I would like to switch these effects by changing DMX channel 6 value, and also change dynamically effect speed which is assigned to DMX channel 7, and assign the rotary knob on my MIDI controller for each of them. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem that in MIDI channel assignment settings it's possible to assign the same midi channel to multiple DMX channels. I also tried to use "zoom" or "focus" channel in fixture settings to assign it to channel 6 and 7, hoping that changing zoom or focus setting will do the trick for that purpose, but no luck here.
assign single MIDI channel to multiple DMX channels

I don't know that this helps but I was able to do the following:

Re: assign single MIDI channel to multiple DMX channels
Hi Rod_Horning, thanks for your response. I'm curious how you were able to perform this? In my case, each time i select MIDI to DMX {channel number}, then rotate the knob on my MIDI controller to trigger the MIDI channel assignment, it's only possible for the first selected MIDI to DMX record.
It's simply impossible to repeat this operation for next rows to achieve my goal, as each time I do it for the new row, it removes the assigned channel in Note IN field in previous row.
Maybe it's due to Freestyler version difference (3.6.49 on my end, while you're probably performing it on 4.1.7)?
Unfortunately, there is no option to manually edit this field and e.g. simply copy and paste values, making it duplicated in consecutive rows.
I even considered to try kind of workaround and check if it would help to manually edit the file with MIDI settings export. But unfortunately data structure doesn't seem to be clearly understandable at first glance. Also, probably there's a risk that even after successful manual editing it won't work as expected after importing it.

Yes I am running 4.1.7 so that could be the difference. I just clicked in the MIDI box and typed the info. I did not try copy and paste.
