PC Mouse Will Not RespondWhen Lights Are On... PLEASE HELP!

I'm wondering if anyone has come across this problem or if anyone knows a fix. I have downloaded Freestyler 3.5 to upgrade from my previous version. Everyhting was running fine for a couple of days and now all of a sudden there is a major issue. I am using a Velleman USB DMX interface, I plug my USB cable into my PC and into my interface...no problem, I plug my DMX cable from my lights into the interface....no problem, I switch on the lights and then my computer mouse takes on a mind of its own. It won't move or moves all over the place, anywhere but where I want it to be and is uncontrolable. I have tried pugging things in and switching them on in just about every order I can think of and it makes no difference, rebooting also makes no difference, as soon as the interface is connected to the dmx cable and the lights are powered up the mouse on my computer is useless. I'm using a Toshiba laptop. The mouse and laptop are fine when not plugged in to the DMX interface. Everything worked fine yesterday. Switched off left it over night and now I have this problem. I have a show to do in a week if anyone can help I would really apprciate it.

Don't know is this helps but have a look.

Remove FreeStyler from the registration database.
Set reset "True" in the FreeStyler ini file.

I don't know if the Velleman uses the FTDI driver else have a look if there is any new driver.

Is this the laptops touchpad. Wireless mouse or a wired mouse? If its wireless perhaps the dmx is interfering with the wireless.

Thanks for you replys guys. I have un-installed and re-installed Freestyler, tried on two different laptops and still the same thing happens. Mattotone - it's the laptops touch pad on both laptops I tried. I plugged a USB wireless mouse and the problem went away and all was well for a couple of hours....then all my fixtures took on a life of their own!! Moving heads doing what they like, wash lights strobing and flashing and unable to shut them down. I have changed all my DMX cables and power cables..same thing. I think I am rapidly coming the conclusion that my Velleman k8062 / VM116 interface is (A) SH*T and (B) not working properly. It's the only thing I haven't changed. I think it has to be the interface...what do you guys think?

your probably right, the vellemans are not known for there reliability, i have an enttec open but the enttec pro is what comes highly recommend on this board.
