Freestyler is free, so spending the extra money on the Pro is still cheaper than buying any other DMX software/dongle package. The Enttec Pro will be your best investment in your whole light rig, trust me. There are others here still fighting trying to get their cheap dongles to work. Ya'll could be programming or gigging instead of fighting with dongles. The message from this board is, "Go Pro and never look back".

Just picking on you bro! I'm looking to add a DMX splitter to my rig. Does anyone have experience with the D-Split? For $92, that seems pretty good to go from one output to four.

I use splitters all the time Shannon. I think Andre does too. They are most useful if you have fixtures on a high truss and others on the floor etc. I treat them like distibution points. Loads of companys make them. Sorry to hear that, Harry. While you have both the Velleman and Enttec Open interfaces, can you do me a favor? I'd like to know what kind of "CPU Usage" numbers you're seeing in Windows Task Manager while running each with FreeStyler, and then compare it to what kind of CPU load you get when running the Enttec Pro.
