Paid Training

Post by beno9487 »

Can anybody help with some training. I have most of freestyler working, but struggling with some sequences and cues settings. Some strange things happening. Also the manual doesnt seem to be up to date with current version. Extra buttons here and there. Happy to pay. Maybe 1 hour? A zoom or teams call with screen share would be perfect.

Please describe the issues you are having. Perhaps we can help without the need for a ZOOM or TEAMS session.

I just want to understand how some of the timing and fades work in sequences. The manual doesnt show the in/out times. Obviously new version. ALso, things like when I close a preset, the lights go to 0,0 position. Also, can I pre psoition lights for chases? Sometimes, in my sequence, 7 our 8 lights move to their position quickly and 1 might go really slow... Stuff like that. Happy to doa teams and share screen. Do you have paypal?

There is a setting that instructs Freestyler to return values to the settings that were present when a sequence starts. Look in Setup -> Extra Options and uncheck Cue "Go to previous value" always enabled. Also, in the Sequence Editor window, click on the red lettered options (in the lower left hand corner). Uncheck Clear Channel Values When Closed and Restore Values When Closed. Also, in the CUE window to the right of each Sequence Line there is an upward left point arrow - if it is blue click it so that it is grey. To be honest I am not sure which of these is the correct one though it might just be the one on the CUE window.

As to the timing, a recent version added the ability to have different fade up and fade down times for step in the sequence. In the Sequence Editor the first value is the Fade Up time and the Second is the Fade Down Time. For this to function the channel setting must be the green icon with the left side going down from the corner to the middle and the right side going up from the middle to the corner.

Yes, you can pre position lights. Have a sequence where the intensity is 0 and the pan and tilt values (probably set to SNAP) are where you want the light aimed when you bring the intensity up in the next sequence (in that sequence set the pan and tilt channels to the red circle with the white dash - this tells Freestyler to not send any data on those channels). Many instruments have a movement speed channel that varies the speed of the move from slow to fast. The other way the movement speed is determined is by the fade times. Freestyler will change the channel value to try to provide a straight , smooth line from the position values at the start of the sequence to the values set for the end of the sequence.
