Since I can't test this until the next gig, just wondering if anyone else has done this.
Run a line out from the insert jack (half insert) or the line out on the kick drum channel on mixer into the mic input on laptop to trigger the sound to light. Sounds like it should be feasible. If it matters my laptop is a HP DV6000.

Re: Sound to Light ?
With a fairly tight gate it will work, so to eliminate the rest of the noise picked up by the kick drum mic.

Re: Sound to Light ?
I am using this setup to trigger our lighting on Saturday, has anyone had any luck getting round the delay issues with the sound to light. The fixtures seem to react a good 1.5 seconds after the sound has been made....
