Best value small midi controller

As per my thread title, whats the best value small midi controller for Freestyler?

I just want to map maybe a dozen buttons, possibly have options for different colours on the buttons to make them easier to find in the dark.

What would you suggest?

I;m UK based and would consider 2nd hand units. I presume USB based is the best as they will work out of the box with my Windows laptop and Freestyler.
