Hi All
thought I would share my latest video, Ive seen a lot of posts regarding the use of the Virtual DJ pluggin and the Microphone options however, I havent found anything relating to my sugguestion.
Anyway - basically the option is to install a small piece of software called "Virtual Cable". This allows the Output from your designated sound card/controller to be copied and sent to the Virtual cable. This in turn is selected as the Wave Input on the Sound to light feature in Freestyler.
All you need to do in your Controller software ie Virtual DJ is to add a duplicate "Master Channel" - select "Virtual cable" as the sound card and then select the channels ie 1+2,
click start on the Freestyler S2L and away you go, ( you will need to obviously adjust the frequency etc settings to the style of music you are playing.

Hope it helps

Re: Sound to light - Windows 10
There's no need for Virtual Audio cable to do this.
Just install S2L version 2, which has a loopback (=listen to output) function built in:

See: https://www.digiplay.nl/fsAudio output loopback support.
No need for 'Stereo-mix' or 'What you hear' driver support. S2L v2 supports 'monitoring' the output of every audio device in your system, out of the box. Just select the output you want to get your beat triggers from. (that is, where your audio playout is running). S2L will do the rest. Of course selecting any input device will still work just as good.
