Run cue from Windows command line

Post by cyris »

Hi Guys,

I've been using Freestyler for a couple of days now and I got my program working properly. The only 'problem' I'm having is that I cannot find out how to run my cue from a Windows command prompt. I just want to run my program once.

I'll briefly describe the situation that I want to accomplish:

- I'm using a UDMX dongle with a Magic FX Stage Flame and Freestyler X2, version 3.6.31
- The Magix FX works as follows: set channel 1 to 50%, then set channel 2 to 100%. After 1 second, turn of both channels. That's all folks :D

My cue runs this program in 3 steps. set channel 1, set channel 2 -> FLAME  , turn off both channels.

Can I create some kind of script that I can run to run this program just once?

Thanks for your help!

Kind regards,
Chris

You dont need a script.
Just create the sequence, load to slot in cue window, disable loop cue option, create a keyboard shortcut to activate the sequence

Hi Partyman,

I did load my sequence into the cue window and I also created a button to run my sequence (and added a keyboard shortcut). But I would like to run that sequence without having to start Freestyler (manually), for example by starting my program from any sort of command line. Is that even possible?

Regards,
Chris

Sorry I may be misunderstanding the question, but are you asking if you can send a command for freestyler to receive, and have freestyler generating a full dmx signal all the time without freestyler actually running?
Since launching the program on demand and waiting to load everything wouldn't exactly be very responsive.

No, the only thing I want is to fire a flame (for 1 second) with a "script" or "batch file" (in the DOS commandline for example).

So when that script is triggered, some sort of instance (or running service) from FreeStyler is loaded and initiates the flame.

What I dont get is why freestyler has to be closed. Why can you not just have freestyler running?
