This should be simple...

Post by jazzjohn »

New user here. I design DMX to PWM dimming circuits and would like to use FreeStyler as a simple test setup. I have the uDMX USB-to-DMX controller.

All I need are at least four sequential channels and an interface to set each one at different levels from 0 to 255. That's it.
:?
The "fixture" is my own board so obviously it isn't listed with the commercial fixtures.

I tried the tutorials but with no success. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, John

What's your dmx 'chart'?
E.g. Channel 1 - master dim
Channel 2 - red fade
Channel 3 - green.,,.. Etc etc.

If it's just four separate single colour things then you could just add four generic single channel par cans. No fixture creation required and you can use the chase fx generators or just really simple control sliders if you like.

My chart would be 4 independent channels: A,B,C,D.
Which stock fixture would be a good starting point?
Thanks.

The "par_white" in the "parcan" folder would do it (or any single colour for that matter). Just add four of them.

I now have 4 PAR_white fixtures, but only one control on the screen (the "Lamp" window). By clicking in the bar graph, I can control the intensity, but all four lamps go to the same DMX level. How can I get a separate, independent control for each of the 4 fixtures?

OK, that works. Thanks.
Is there any way to have 4 individual controls on the screen at once?

there are many ways to do that via cue window or submasters but I believe your best method will be to use the touchscreen interface (under options) and put whatever you want on screen

My pull-down menus are File Edit Fixture Setup Output Windows Help

None of them have "options" or "touchscreen interface."

Version is 3.4.6.
