Hey guys,
Quick question. I have 4 movers setup, but sometimes only need to use 3. All of my cues and sequences are programmed with 4 movers in the steps. Can I use one of the included options below to temporarily remove 1 fixture from the programmed playback, and if one of these options work, will it leave a blackout where the fixture would normally play (say in a chase sequence), or will it jump the fixture and immediately move to the next one in the playback sequence ??? I have read the Wiki, and it says no output (or playback output) is sent to the fixture. But if I have 1 mover doing something for a couple of seconds, and no output is sent, what happens to that time, will there be nothing happening for those few seconds, or will the playback jump right away to the next fixture with no delay (even if the removed fixture would normally take up time in the playback)
This is what I found on Wiki:
Disable fixture:
No output is send to the fixture.
Remove fixture from playback:
No playback output is send to the fixture.
Thanks
Neil

Re: Disable Fixture vs Remove Fixture From Playback
If you disable or remove from playback you will have dead area in your sequences. I does not hurt anything and sequences will run whether 1 fixture or all fixtures are hooked up but it does not adjust your sequences or change timing if you remove a fixture

Re: Disable Fixture vs Remove Fixture From Playback
thanks partyman for the quick answer, that was what I was afraid the answer was going to be. so that means, if I want my sequences to be "tight" with no gaps, I will have to create 2 sets, depending on how many fixtures I plan on using.
I think for the most part, most of my sequences should be fine, when it comes to movements, colors, gobos, where all are doing the same thing. It's just things like sequential chases that will take a hit if I just disable a fixture temporarily, when it comes time to playback the ON CHASE for that fixture, there will be a blackout for the chase time in that chase sequence. Something I will have to see if I am willing to live with versus new programming.
Thanks
Neil
