MIDI control conventional par cans

Post by moorereinforcement »

This should be simple. I have a Korg Nano Kontrol 2. It has eight faders. I have 8 conventional par cans each on its own channel. I'd like to assign 2 cans to each of 4 faders as simple dimmers. I'm having zero luck finding anything in the tutorial or on this forum on how to do this. Please help!

What do you have the par cans connected to? Dimmer packs? You must address them so that they are recognized by Freestyler. Once you can control them with Freestyler then you can move on to midi shortcuts.

Yes of course they will be connected to dimmer packs. I'm trying to do some pre-programming . Are you telling me that I have to have all of the dimmers and cans connected, so that Freestyler can recognize them, before I can do any programming? What I'm trying to figure out is how to address midi faders to dimmer channels.

No, that is not what I am saying.
I am saying that once you know what channels are controlling what lights you can then program sequences and midi shortcuts to control them. I would suggest a deep read of the Wiki.
