Hello all,
I just have a question...not a complaint or anything as I'm sure there is a good reason for this, but I'm just not understanding what that is. Why will overrides only run the first scene in a cue? I think it would be awesome if an override would run as many scenes as are in a cue...for things like quickly rotating lighting colors during a guitar solo, and then with one click going back to whatever was happening before, or running sequences of moving lights during key parts of a song. Does that make sense? I realize this can be accomplished using submasters, but that can get complicated in a hurry.
Just looking for some insight.
Thanks!
Kendell

Re: Question about reasoning behind overrides
Hey
The idea behind the override buttons was for quick "over" layers for things like, gobos, colours, strobe, rotation etc. The idea being that you could quickly put them on and off again, like a switch. It is also possible to assign them to a keyboard shortcut so that you press that key and it works that override button, or if you use midi you can assign them to midi.
I myself find them useful for things like strobe, colours, gobos, etc. That's why I use them.
If you have an idea for the software then post it here: viewforum.php?f=7. It will then be taken into thought by our developer.
Hope this helps.

Re: Question about reasoning behind overrides
Thanks for the answer!
I see that, and that's commonly how I use them too, but there are situations where I want to trigger multi-step "instants." Say, during a guitar solo I want to quickly rotate my front lighting colors through ROYGBIV and make my moving heads go real fast, but at the end of the solo, I want to go right back to whatever setting I had in the first place. I can't really do this with Overrides as they are now. I might be able to with Submasters, but overrides would be easier.
I will recommend this to the development team. Thanks!

Re: Question about reasoning behind overrides
Welcome.
I see what you mean through. I know some fixtures have that built in and then you can put it on a OR button, like you are wanting to do. But for people like yourself it can be difficult if your fixture doesn't have that available.
