I'm using a Numark Orbit to try and control my cuelist buttons via midi. I only have 3 tabs but use most of each cuelist buttons within each tab for my shows and hardware.
In setup, I find that when I press a button on the orbit that it sees the 0 and 127 toggle when I press the button on orbit, and freestyler sees it in the monitor box and assigns it to the command. I've tried both page 1 and page independent combinations. Nothing fires my cuelist button as shown in the image below. Yes the buttons work as expect with the mouse and keyboard so it "seems" like the midi is not working at all.
I didn't use orbit editor, controller was given to me and i just press one button for freestyler to see.....and it plugs in value to setup screen.....shouldn't it just fire after is saw the number that it put in there?
Thanks for looking at it for me, I'll have to look at orbit editor to see if I can restore default values
the editor seems to be the best awy you can also save the current setup..
But midi has MANY!!! differnt way how it act/works.. so to get a number on FS is realy easy but to get it work right, you need to know how midi works...
allthough the bcf also doesnt work out of the box.. you need to set some little changes..

AMD FX-6100 (3.6ghz)x6, Nvidia 770GTX 4GB, 8GB Ram,ROG MB, enttec Pro, Open enttec, Velleman, T2250MTS-B1 22"touchscreen, Ilyama 23" screen, scans, dimm, rgbled, laser, soundsystem Just a drive-in show. Live and Dance
and you can use MIDIOX to monitor the midi data that have been send...
and to get a idea.
you see:
TIMESTAMP, IN, PORT, STATUS, DATA1, DATA2, CHAN, NOTE and EVENT..
you need to look at STATUS, DATA1 and DATA2.
also first right click on the monitor and "Display decimal"
now on STATUS you need to Get B0 to BF this is CC , Channel1 to 16. just to be Save only use channel 1.
FS should work with all 16 channels.
and DATA1 and DATA2 can be 0 to 127, the Note and Velocity
DATA1 = Button/Fader/Encoder, Number
DATA2 = Value from Button/Fader/Encoder
A button should Jump from 0 to 127, if you press it 127 and Release it 0
a Fader or encoder can have a Value between 0 and 127.

I use midi ox all the time, here is top left button midi values from midi-ox
TIMESTAMP IN PORT STATUS DATA1 DATA2 CHAN NOTE EVENT
1820 1 -- 144 36 127 1 C 2 Note On
1951 1 -- 128 36 0 1 C 2 Note Off
3512 1 -- 144 36 127 1 C 2 Note On
3603 1 -- 128 36 0 1 C 2 Note Off
4735 1 -- 144 36 127 1 C 2 Note On
4826 1 -- 128 36 0 1 C 2 Note Off
oke on the Freestyler midi window there's a Hidden button or at least i never seen it realy quick.
but on the Right Upper corner therse a OPTION button if you press it you can Enable "NOTE-ON/NOTE-OFF" try this.. and see what happins.
otherwise the issue can be because it sends on Press 144 (90) and relase 128
and i do not know what 128 is..
Still i recommend to use B0 to BF as freesyler is made on this and it works the best..
but it seems like a realy nice controller! i think i will aslo get one

I did try those also, no difference, no response.......I have the midi on "start" so it's seeing me press the button on and off.....so it sees and interprets the midi data the same as midi-ox does.....
Just not actually executing the function that it is being tied too....very strange.......trying 3.5.2 and see what happens
Well what do you know, I go back to 3.5.2 as a clean install and it works right out of the gate, programmed the two functions and it fires right away.......something damaged in 3.5.4......
That sounds like a touch screen mapping issue which might be internal. Send a message to spirit, or add what issue you have to the bug tracker and the dev will look at it while he is fresh on this issue.
