Trigger commands through midi

Post by djkevino »

Hey guys,

I've got a novation launchpad and have got a big lightshow this eve. But i've got an array of blinder on a dimmerpack. Now i need to type my command: 17/22@100 and: 17/22@0.

How could i bind these to my launchpad?

I dunno about the Launchpad, but I use a midi controller, and what I did was create an override sequence (which can only be 1 step long,) which turned on the blinder and simultaneously blacks out the stage, right-clicked the button and checked "flash button" which made it momentary (so when I push the midi button, it engages the override, and when I release it, everything goes back the way it was before,) and it works great. You might do something similar.

I'm told you can also use submasters for similar effect, but I'm just getting into that, so I dunno in that direction.

If you go to SETUP>External Control>MIDI, then scroll down near the bottom of the functions, there are Command 0 - Command 9 (which I believe are macros?) plus other Command functions which you can assign to MIDI controls.
