I might sound like a proper noobish idiot for asking these questions, but I think we all need to start somewhere at some point no might how old

What does "double yoke & top hat fixing" mean with in regards to a fixture of lighting??

A yoke is a metal 'band' that is attached to a fixture allowing you to hang it from something.

Double yoke probably means it has two bands that can be split appart so that he fixture can be placed on the floor without using a 'H' stand:

Top hat is usually a recessed hole that allows a pole to be inserted (much like th bottom of a PA speaker):

For a fixture it may mean a 'platform' with an incorporated top hat mount so the fixture can be placed on top of a pole:

That has helped me and was easy to understand, so thanks While I'm here and it's fresh in my mind, quick question for you.

I'm thinking of getting some stage/audience blinders, do you have any? If so is it worth? If I can't however afford them, is there anything that is cheaper that runs just as good and as the same effort?

I just use some cheap flood lights connected to a switch pack:

(Mine are smaller and I have removed the...yoke!)

My switch pack is like a four way power board that allows you to send power to a fixture and is controlled by DMX:

A dimmer pack is different in that it allows you to vary the amount of power sent to a fixture.

I like fast paced EDM so the blinders look great when the song builds to a peak and them...BOOM!

Nice, we use a Floodlight as a blinder like these:

We just mounted them to our truss and hooked them up to a 3-socket dimmer pack.

Oh and i just found out that when we use these bulbs with freestyler (we are just now only switching to a computer-controlled system) they actually work , with our previous setup, they were slow to turn on and they occasionally got stuck on, and you had to turn them off completely just to unstick them!
