Driver Issues

Post by Zikarot »

Hello there!

I got one of this from a friend last week (http://www.ebay.com/itm/110988051039...84.m1497.l2649). Unfortunately, I can't get it to work.

The "driver+software CD" came blank and none of the drivers I downloaded seems to work. I've tried stuff from Enttec, Martin and some open-source projects. No use. Can't get even to "USBDMX512" being recognized in Windows 7 x64 Device Manager (the angry yellow question marks remain there).

Anyone got any ideas? It has become extremely annoying.

Regarding its IDs, I got:
VID: 0x2008 PID: 0x1066

Thanks in advance, any help is appreciated!

This thing is really testing my patience. I have another chrome tab with the website open, tested it before posting, seems it has just now been removed.

Data from the publication:

Product Specifications:

Code: Select all

1. System introduce:
USB hardware design, high-speed stability,
No delay, no data loss, fully synchronized data.
The presented USB-DMX interface allows to control DMX-compatible lighting systems of a PC
from using the software.
This purpose, the device provides both a DMX output as well as a DMX input, which can process
512 channels simultaneously.
By selecting different operating modes can be set to the DMX input data generated by PC or a
data stream to the DMX output. Of course, and DMX input and PC data are combined in the
interface and the DMX input can be transmitted from the controller to the software. The complete
DMX transceiver part is isolated (max. 1000V) from the rest of the circuit separately.
When output signal can be interbyte, interframe, Mark and Break Time and also set the channel
number and the start byte. This makes it possible to operate also not 100% DMX-compatible
devices with the interface.
In Repeater mode, the interface can also adjust the timing of the incoming DMX signal is used as
the outgoing signal is generated again with the adjusted timing values.
2. Here again all the features of the interface:
1. DMX-512 compatible output (512 channels)
2. DMX-512 compatible input (512 channels)
3. Buffer the DMX data in the interface

3. Specifications and accessories:
1. External dimension: L115 Χ W95 Χ H42 mm
2. Packing size: L180 Χ W175 Χ H58 mm
3 .Net weight: 350g
4. Gross weight: 450g
5. Available with 3-pin and 5 pin connectors
6. one piece of interface wire.
7. A suit of light control software(CD)
4. Supported software:
1. The interface is compatible with the following software:
FreeStyler ( http://www.freestylerdmx.be/)
MagicQ PC (http://www.chamsys.co.uk/)
MADRIX (http://www.madrix.de/)
2 . The control on the PC side is a dll file. It provides functions to communicate with the
connected interfaces. There can be up to 32 interfaces to connect to a computer, of course,
practically limits the transmission capacity of the number of USB. Development of the source
code available again, easy integration into your software possible.

hi
it seems Madrix and MagicQ both can work with the enttec PRO.
And on older version also the Enttec OPEN.

So it seems your dongle uses the FTDI chipset.
so you can download the FTDI drivers from the FTDI webpage.

and on Freestyler you can try "Enttec PRO", "DMXking PRO", "Eurolite DMX512"

Tried with several FTDI drivers. No use, yellow mark persists. Maybe anyone had luck using the same interface?

I'll keep looking.
