APC 20 - Mapping

Hey everyone!
I just bought myself an Akai APC 20 to use it with Freestyler DMX. I work at some local bars, clubs and small venues, that usually have 24 par-cans on a dimmer. I was wondering how hard it would be to get the faders and the buttons on the APC to work as flash-buttons and faders. I've tried to map myself, and downloaded some pre-mapped stuff from a random fireman in Chicago, without any luck. I'm not a genius at computers and understanding software, but i'd like to try so i don't have to struggle with complicated shitty analog-mixers anymore.

PS: Just assigning the buttons to the actual "button"-section in Freestyler would be nice.
