Hi!
First post here.
I´m having some troubles wich i can not solve, have gone trough the forum for well over a day now and i just can´t find the problem.
I downloaded freestyler dmx and wanted to start programming a show for a touring band.
I get Everything correct, except one thing, i can´t turn the lamps "on", no shutter, no color, no gobo.
To clearify, i cant touch the buttons, they are grey.
What is missing?
Please, help me.
Best Regards
Big problems, scrathing my head!

Do i need to connect the interface and the fixtures to play around with it?
A friend told me it should work without to program Cues and scenes.

If you don't connect interface how it should work?
Yes, it will be work without programing cues and scenes. But you must have correct fixture file, which told to Freestyler how many channels using your hardware, what are values for turn on/of lamps etc.
If you haven't correct fixture file - that's why lamp putton is not accesible.
But if you choose right number of DMX chanel maybe you can operate yours light manually - at the right upper part of FS, there is small arrow. Clik it and small panel with sliders will shown. Now try to move the sliders. Something happend?
It't a solution for check your light only. But if you want use efectively Freestyler you have to find correct fixture. What light(s) do you have? Maybe they already are in FS fixtures. In not - it's easy to make. I can help you if you have manual or it's findable in the web.

Id have to agree it sounds like a fixture issue. Double check your manual and the fixture creator. If anything you can just find out how many channels the light has and use the manual sliders on the top right. There are generic fixture profiles around the forum that you can start with.
And the light shines on. While we all ride on. When the days come and gone You know we all ride on.

Re: Big problems, scrathing my head!
Have you tried just connecting your most simple fixture and trying to control only that?
My PARcans have a small single indicator LED on the rear which flashes when they receive a DMX signal - do your have anything similar?
DMX address correct? Something suggested to me a few days ago was that maybe the DIP switches for the address are inverted?
What interface are you using? I had the wrong drivers installed for my Enttec Open DMX....
Cheers,
Mal
