Seems like a simple question: RGB & Sequences
This must be a simple question, but I have been scouring these forums, and watching youtube videos in languages I dont know.
I have an American DJ P64 LED Plus, simple RGB par can that uses 6 channels, none of them Intensity. So I really only use the first three channels. Now using the Submaster Tutorial, I was able to create create three cues in the cue stack, one red, green, blue.
Now If I load that cue stack into the first submaster, and double click on the red cue. My fixure comes on and goes to red like it should. Then if I double click on the blue, rather than going to blue, it goes to purple, running the two cues at the same time (red + blue = purple.) What in the world am I doing wrong.
I know it must be a simple solution. We are a small, simple non profit ministry attempting to use this interface software for our events and your input, or even direction to the answer in another friend would be awesome. Thank you.

Re: Seems like a simple question: RGB & Sequences
Hey,
It sounds like with you saying there is no intensity, that when the red STOPS its still on. So when you start the blue it's going to go over the red (which is on) and make purple. do you follow?
so it sounds like you need to find a way, if there is no intensity to make a simple chase like so.
Step 1= Red
Step 2 = Shutter closed/intensity off.
then the same for blue and green, then if you stop the red chase for example on step 2 of the submaster and start blue it should come out blue and not purple. If you need a video explaining i'll be happy to upload and show you. hope this helps

Just switch the sequences to SNAP instead of FADE.

Re: Seems like a simple question: RGB & Sequences
You don't need to watch a video.
Open the sequence for RED (it should be a single step sequence). Set all the color sliders from FADE to SNAP (just click the button to the right of the color slider). quick save the sequence (overwriting the current one)
Do the same for BLUE and GREEN sequences.
Open the sub-masters and the colors should switch instantly instead of fading between colors - which is what I'm gathering you don't want to happen. They colors will instantly switch.

Re: Seems like a simple question: RGB & Sequences
hi as Captainbetty says you can use SNAP instead of FADE.
But the most importend thing is that you need to Create the Sequence CORRECT.
you did this for the Red sequence
RED , 255 Fade or SNAP
Geen, 0 OFF
BLUE, 0 OFF
This is wrong.
you need to do it like this for the Red sequence.
RED, 255 FADE or SNAP
Green, 0 FADE or SNAP
Blue, 0 FADE or SNAP
For the Green Sequence.
RED, 0 FADE or SNAP
Green, 255 FADE or SNAP
Blue, 0 FADE or SNAP
and the blue sequence
RED, 0 FADE or SNAP
Green, 0 FADE or SNAP
Blue, 255 FADE or SNAP
as you see i set ALL 3 channels on SNAP or FADE.

Thank you everyone for your input, but that you to Spirit for laying it out so clearly. It makes perfect sense. Tried it out and it worked like a charm. Thank you, just made my day. The show should go well now, hopefully.

Re: Seems like a simple question: RGB & Sequences
Silly question, but why can't you put the other colours to OFF? Why do they have to be on SNAP or Fade? Just thought that I'd ask as I've never used RGB Par cans, but hopefully going to be getting some soon and it's useful to know and remember for when I'm programmingSpirit wrote:hi as Captainbetty says you can use SNAP instead of FADE.

Just surely I thought that if the other ones were OFF, that it wouldn't effect the programming of the colour that you are programming?

Re: Seems like a simple question: RGB & Sequences
this works on LTP (Latest Takes Precedence)
this means the latest change will be used..
so how the Guy above did this you get this:
Red:
RED , 255 Fade or SNAP
Geen, 0 OFF
BLUE, 0 OFF
Green:
RED , 0 OFF
Geen, 255 Fade or SNAP
BLUE, 0 OFF
Green:
RED , 0 OFF
Geen, 0 OFF
BLUE, 255 Fade or SNAP
If i first run the Red sequence i get RED
now if i the Green sequence i get Yellow ( i think)
thats because the green sequence did not Turn the red channel back to 0
as you see on the other example i made..
if i run the Red sequence the Green and Blue channel are set to 0
so you get RED.
if you run the green sequence the Red and blue channel are set to 0
so you get green..
So channels that are set to Fade or snap will be playedback..
the channels that are set to OFF are unchanged..
hopefully this clear it up.
