FX Generator and RGB LED pars

I have 10 american Dj tri7x 's ( in 7 channel mode )and I would like to use the FX generator to make some cool sequences.

I have been using freestyler for about 3 year now and I am about to redo all my dmx numbering ( 35 fixtures ) and all my programing from scratch. So I would like to try and figure this out before hand.

when I do an FX by "color " it goes through premade color macros on the fixture instead of the correct colors. So say I select CHASE, by COLOR Low value Green, High Value Red . I get "off " and "White" and not red and green
How can I fix this ? I first thought I could do just 4 channel mode but then I lose strobe effect .

5 channel mode has the color macro
6 channel mode has color macro and strobe

hi .

if i patch the american Dj tri7x 's deafult in the Patch list from freestyler.
if i open the colorwindow i get quistion marks "?"
do you have the same..?

No I get the Fixed colors, I made my own fixture and matched the colors up with rosco gels

but its essentially the same thing . If i used the standard fixture file and FX generator by COLOR i would get "?" as well because that is what they used for the pictures instead of the actual colors

i tried it and it seems to work ok.
ONLY! be shure you Use the blue arrows on the FX to select the correct color.
The Default color setting you see if you open the FX select Color and Chase aren't Correct!

It is using the pre programmed colors that are in the fixture . not the colors from the CMY-RGB color pallet like on my other LED par cans. There are 32 pre made colors macros in the fixture, a lot of blues and whites .. NO yellow

if a fixed fixture color is set, it over rides the CMY-RGB color pallet color .

Its just kind of a pain in butt



so in the picture the FIXED color built into the fixture is blue represented by blue box. and the CMY-RGB color is white represented by the white bar above the fixture..

So the blue overrides the white. until you select "off" for Fixed color.

hey again.

about the fact that the fixid colors override the CMY-RGB color is normal.
all the lighting i now does the same.
and Freestyler cant do anything about it because this is how the Fixture responts.
but if you like to use the RGB channels on the FX you dont need to select the COLOR channel but the Red/Green or Blue channel on the FX.

but i also use this software about 3 years and i never use the FX to create my LEDPAR chase it doesnt give the chases i like. so i allways create them the Hardway just by hand.

i only use the FX to create the Pan/Tilt chases and Sunstip (Intensitie) chases and sometimes the PARCAN (intensitie) chases.
