Help needed for the right strategy!

Post by docMario »

Hello everyone,
I am the drummer of a live band. Currently I was assigned the responsible position of light jockey :o (It's not as if I have nothing else to do, doing the sound mix and... drumming). Since we did not have any lightshow I had to start completely from scratch.

I already obtained the following fixtures:
* 2 LED scanners (eurolite tsl-100)
* 4 LED flat PAR56 floor cans (eurolite LED SLS-183/10 RGB)
* 3 LED lightning systems (InvoLight SBL-1000HP v2)
* 2 LED Color Bars (panther lights led bars)

My idea would be to create sequences for each fixture type (maybe even use submasters for more flexibility) and then combine those sequences in a song specific cue (i.e. play multiple sequences at a time). so far so good... (?) BUT: during a song it would be necessary to activate/deactivate multiple sequences, to have for example the following cue line:

Intro: play Seq. 1-5 (cycle each)
Refrain: stop Seq. 1-5, play Seq. 6-10
Solo: continue Seq. 6-9, but instead of Seq. 10 now play Seq. 11
... and so on ...

Is it possible to do the programming for different "Parts" of the song that have their own time/beat triggered cue and then just tell FS when to proceed to the next part?

... or what would be the most sensible way to do it?
Is there another/better strategy to build my "inventory"?

thanks in advance for your advice!
best regards, Mario
