Moving head shape restriction

Post by soldstatic »

Hi,

I'm a mobile DJ and am upgrading my lighting systems to include a few moving head devices. I want the moving heads to change color along with the DMX400 chase thing so it's in the same color schemes as my RGB lights. But I want it to also shine around the room and move instead of just sit motionless.

I like the fact that I can just click 'shape' on the pan/tilt thing and start those movements. That's awesome. But it goes ALL around the room. I want to focus the light on the dancefloor etc. I'm mounting it upside down because occassionally I want it to shine on the DJ and/or use it as a spotlight, but for the most part when it's on I want it moving around like crazy, but only on the dance floor area.

Is there any way to limit where the 'shapes' move? Like make sure that the pan/tilt is only between certain values.

Any help is greatly appreciated,
Thanks!!!
-Andy

If you press "Shape" there will popup another window with the Shape it's going to make with this window you can make the Shape Smaller "-" or bigger "+" or rotate the shape with "Rot." and you can also drag the shape to the postion you like.

Just an fyi - I find it easier to limit the parameters of the light in the light itself, NOT the software.

Say you mount the light on top of a tripod or speaker, almost every time I use the shape, my dance floor if out of the shape area, any way to make the shape area to be the full area of tilt/pan?
