I'm switching over to a laptop and while I did get some good recommendations on older computers (2.0 processor, 160GB hard drive and 2 GB's of RAM) I had a buddy recommend getting a smaller computer at Sam's Club.
Everything seems to be similar but the h. drive is 250GB on them and it only has 1 GB of DDR RAM. I would only have the lighting software on this laptop so I imagine performance would do me much better than a larger hard drive, right?
I guess there is also the "security blanket" of being able to swap a computer at Sam's Club for a long time afterwards as well (this is my main reasoning for considering a place like that).
Thanks

Re: Laptop
I use to use a Netbook for freestyler. I had to use an external monitor because the screen was too small to use sometimes. (Have over 30 fixtures). So i got a used 19" touchscreen lcd on ebay and that worked great with it.
1gb will run Freestyler fine. You could always upgrade it to 2gb. (Most netbooks are capable of it!)
