Override Buttons

Post by wardomon »

Most of the shows I do are pre-programmed for songs, all of the cues are determined. Now I'm trying to set up a generic rig for acts I've never heard before. I need to be able to "play" the lights like an instrument, following along with the feel of the music.

I made a bunch of color combos with the PARs/dimmers. I also made another bunch of sequences for color to color fades with the intensity changed from "snap" to "fade". Works nicely in submasters and cues. When I put the fades onto override buttons, the fade setting is ignored. I know that the override buttons only play the first step of a sequence, but these are all single step.

Is there a way to get the sequences to play out the fade time or does it just go for the end result?

Anybody?

The only way i know to achive this is to Add your buttons that you like to have a fade time with to a Submaster, the Fade time will be allways the amount you put in Sequance creator, and sm will be allways 100%. this is also a Feature request i made to have more Controll over the Speed.
if you look at the Tutorial on the Freestyler wiki you will see they add almost everything to Submaster, Gobo, Color, Movements, Par chases and name it.
But i do understand your problem because there is no way to have fade time with Override buttons.

I was hoping for a way to layer a few things together in realtime using overrides instead of submasters. It would be fast and natural feeling.

Did a quick read through of the Pearl Expert manual. Lucky you. If the booking comes through, I'll get my hands on a big rig at the end of this summer.
