Hi!
I'm new to Freestyler and been workin on it for the last couple of days so this is maybe a newbie question. My setup:
FS ver 3.3.2
Interface: Enttec Open USB
Fixtures: American DJ Revo IV (4 channel mode), Stairville Tri LED Bundle (6 channel mode).
Windows 7
I had to create the fixture file for the Stairville myself but I have got everything working fine when run by itself. I can create sequences for both fixtures and add them to a cue. Here I have some problems. I add a few sequences to a cue. If I run a sequence in loop on the Stairville and start another sequence on the Revo IV - the sequence on the Stairville stops (also on DMX output). This is most likely somethin stupid - but please help.
/Mikael

Hi oebb and welcome to the FS forum
you might have to activate the multiselect feature. you can turn that on in Setup --> FreeStyler Setup --> Preferences --> Extra options. Set the checkmark for "Cue Multiselect always enabled"
that should do the trick for you. otherwise please ask again

Re: Multiple sequences whoes
Hi again.
Thanks for your welcome and reply. Fun to be in.
I actually already have the "Cue Multiselect always enabled" - should have mentioned that.
Another observation is if I add a Stairville sequence after the Revo IV and do
1. loop first sequence in Cue - Stairville
2. loop second sequence in Cue - Revo IV - then the first seqence stops
3. loop the third sequence in Cue another Stairville - then the second sequence stops
Also been testing with alla variants of the "Restore Values" and "Release all..." buttons in the Cues but it makes no difference. Any help is much apreciated.
Cheers

Re: Multiple sequences whoes
Does the button of the first sequence still show the sequence as active? (it shows a 'stop' square then).oebb wrote: 1. loop first sequence in Cue - Stairville

If yes: If you now stop the second sequence, without doing anything to sequence 1, does sequence 1 its job again?
If yes: then you created your sequences faulty. Make sure sequence 1 only controls the DMX channels needed for the stairville, those channels are configured snap or fade. ALL other channels should be set to 'off'.
Next to that, you need to check your 2nd sequence, same story. Check if it only controls the Revo IV dmx channels (snap, fade), all others (especially the Stairville channels) should be configured to 'off'.
Same story as above.3. loop the third sequence in Cue another Stairville - then the second sequence stops
I'm guessing you created sequences badly, by mistake. Review them, for each sequence, disable all DMX channels (by setting them to off, in _every_ step!) of fixtures that that sequence does not control.
Leaving those to snap or fade, overrides previous started sequences (LTP technique) - leaving you with your current problem.
If you don't understand what I'm talking about with the snap, fade and off setting, please have a look in the help file.
Also, if LTP is meaningless to you, you should read something about it using google.
While doing that, also find out LoTP and HTP.
In short:
LTP = Latest Takes Precedence -- the last started sequence, is the one you see, regardless of what other sequences are enabled for the same DMX channels -- used very often in intelligent lighting. The cue window in FreeStyler works LTP, always.
LoTP = Lowest Takes Precedence -- if the light is controlled by multiple faders, it gets the value of the lowest fader, even when another higher value fader is touched as last -- mostly used on regular PAR, not used that much
HTP = Highest Takes Precedence -- The opposite of LoTP -- used very much, among others on regular PAR lighting.

Re: Multiple sequences whoes
Also make sure you programmed your sequences in transparent mode. In the lower right of the create sequence window you can select decide if you want to have a "static" or a "transparent" sequence. Static means, you can not combine the sequence with other sequences! Read in the "create sequence" section of the FreeStyler help to finde out about static and transparent mode.

Re: Multiple sequences whoes
Thanks a mill for your help both Mavi and remco.
I had obviously created my sequences with accidentally more fixtures selected than intended and that caused a lot of strange behaviour. Reset of all fixtures to off and redoing my sequences (transparent) did the trick. Did my first gig with FS this saturday
Cheers
