Hi Guys,
Just wondering what hardware you guys run Freestyler on?
I'm running an Acer One Netbook.
1.6Ghz Atom
1Gb (soon to be 2) Ram
250 Gb HDD (i think)
Going to buy a Novation ZeRO SL MkII or similar to run my Sub Masters off.
What Midi controllers do others use?
Cheers,
T

Re: Machines
Hi
I am using two machines. One is my PC standing at hom: AMD Phenom II X6 1055T (6 x 2,8 GHz) with 4GB RAM (this will be also more soon I think) and a 80 GB SSD. For data there is a 500 GB HDD also in it.
When I am controlling lights as a gig I use my laptop: Acer TravelMate 8100 with 1,87 GHz and 1 GB Ram. It is not the newest and fastes one (I one it for over 5 Years now) but it does the job very well and I never had problems.
I do not own a midi controller yet but I will have a closer look to the Elation Midicon and perhaps get one.

Re: Machines
Many FS users favor the BCF2000 as it is well priced and has motorised faders which would be helpful on any lighting desk. A good budget alternative is the korg nano range. No motorised faders on these but Im told they are good. I personally use a BCF and find it to be exellent.

hi
i'm using a very old laptop i don't now de name but it have 1.0ghz, 256mbram and a 20gb harddisk works fine.
the problem i have is that some other pc or laptop breaks the connection with the dongle (enttec pro and Enttec open) but the old laptop does't do this.
and i use my own pc i use it for testing and works fine and my own pc have amd athlon 2x3.0ghz, 4gbram, Nvidia 8800GT, 2x OCZ SSD 60GB, 2x 1TB Samsung Spinpont F3.
and the midi controller i use is a 22" Touchscreen with Userinterface2 but it would be fine if FS makes Also Automatic --->"FADERS"<--- in it.

Sounds like you don't need too fast a machine in order to have a reliable desk?
I don't have the best track record with behringer gear, that's the reason why I'm thinking a novation, I wish Akai made a faders+buttons unit.
Had a look at the Chamsys playback wing as well as the enttec playback wings...
There's also a part of me that just wants to spend the money and get a hog3 dongle and playback wing
Just because I can't save led trix into cues and it's not really customizable enough for me.
I've seen that throughout fs, it's good for free software but just has holes in customisability... Unlike something like Hogpc or Chamsys, or Ion
Cheers,
T
