Wii controlling some fixtures independently

Post by cassioalmeida »

Dear experts, during my parties, I submit a WII controller to my guests to play with some fixtures like SCAN. It's working perfectly (using GlovePIE). But I need to control other fixtures without stop the WII to control that especifc fixture. For example, if I choose another fixture, of course the WII no longer control the specific fixture and will control what I chose. Is there any way to make a MIDI controller (in this case with GlovePIE WII) control a fixture independent of selection of another in the dashboard?

Thanks in advance for some clues.

Best regards.

on the midi settings there is some attributes called "MIDI to DMX" you assign the Wii controller to these attributes and enter the DMX channels for your scan's functions/attribute (pan, tilt, gobo, colour etc.). Now you dont have to select your fixture in freestyler to use the Wii controller, beacuse the the midi-->DMX is not dependent of the user interface in FS

Thank you Kristian but I did not understand.

I saw the DMX to MIDI function but did not understand how to use this function with some fixtures. I know how to set WII things to MIDI to DMX (1 to 24) but I dont know how MIDI to DMX 1 will be "sent" to some fixture. You can detail better or tell me where to find more literature on this?

Thanks

Let's say your scanner has address 120 and use 8 channels. Then you assign "MIDI to DMX" 1-8 to your Wii controller. Hereafter you set the DMX channel for each MIDI to DMX:

MIDI to DMX 1: channel 120
MIDI to DMX 2: channel 121
MIDI to DMX 3: channel 122
.
.
.
MIDI to DMX 8: channel 127
