Hello all,
I am new to Freestyler, been reading up on the tutorials and playing around with it for the last few days. I haven't gotten very far as I am stuck with a fundamental problem...
I am planning to use x6 Martin Mac 500's, x2 lasers, strobe, fog machine and a few parcans in a show we are putting together...I am very interested in Freestyler as I'll be able to do a lot of the programming before we even arrive at the venue. I am using Magic 3D Easyview to create a mock up of our stage to program the lights. I started with adding the 6 Mac 500's, but I just can not seem to control them correctly. I added them via the Add/Remove Fixtures interface and let it automatically deal with the DMX addresses. I can get some of the controls working on the 1st Mac 500 (but not all), but the other 5 seem to have a mind of their own. Like, if I adjust the pan/tilt of light one, light 3 changes colours even though I only have light one selected. The controls for the other 5 lights just don't do anything at all. I assume this is a DMX addressing issue? Maybe the link between Freestyler and Magic 3D Easyview needs tweeking?
I added the 6 lights using the fixture adder in Magic 3D Easyview and let it sort out the addressing. I also opened Magic 3D Easyview from the toolbar button in Freestyler after I had added the 6 Mac 500's.
Please can you help me out here, really want get cracking and design the scenes for this show...and prepare a video to show the artists what I am planning for them. Any advice or hints welcome!
Thanks!

Re: Controlling Martin Mac500's
hey larry.
the MAC500 can be controlled in 4 different DMX modes with different number of DMX channels. you need to be sure that the fixture you add in FS and the fixture in 3D EasyView is in the same mode (you should have notice this if you had compared the DMX Address's in FS and 3D). you should read the manual for the MAC500 so you can choose the mode you want to control the lights in.
FS only has the DMX mode 2 fixture. if you want to run the MAC500 in a different mode you have to create the fixtures yourself. 3D EasyView have fixtures for all modes.
make sure you set the MAC500's in the same mode.
