This is how i configured my BCF-2000

Hi all,

As there are no complete configured layouts available with the functions that i need, so I have made one my self.
But i think that for more people this is handy, so i would like to present my BCF-2000 settings.

I have made an excel sheet with all the button's functions.
Also i made a new.syx template that you need to upload to your bcf, and i created an FMS file with freestyler ver 3.3.1 for easy midi settings import.
All those files are available in the zip file below.
bcf2000-conf-cb-v1.0.zip
I first have to explain that i use submasters to control my fixtures. Secondly, i use fixture groups. So i can access fixtures how i want by jumping next and previous group on my BCF.
Here a a screenshot of the submasters and group settings so you can see how i use it. (a bigger version is also in the zip file).
freeuse.jpg
The excel file it self, is a representation of the BCF2000.
- Blue is shift mode. (Push shift, and the blue option is available)
- gray are encoder button assigned rotors (to have the capability to control all the 20 sequence speeds at the same time as using the submaster pages)
bcf2000-excel-example.jpg
It took me a long time to build a good working controller config so i hope someone else can benefit of this also.

PS , i am always open for questions, suggestions for improvements and so on.

Best regards,

Bob

This looks like a great concept, cyberb0b! I just unboxed my controller last night and am going to try your scheme out soon.

Do you think the fms file will work with a newer version of Freestyler?

Thanks for sharing all of your work on this.

Thanks very much for your effort! Your files are a great help to me.

I've got a slight problem though. Somehow the buttons on my BCF keep acting as toggles, instead of flash buttons. As a result, I have to press the top left button two times for every execution of 'Prev Sub1'. Using Tap sync this way is kinda hard too.

I'm guessing it's a small parameter to fix this. Unfortunately I'm quite new to midi / BCF, so I don't even know where to start looking

[Edit]
I've downloaded BCEdit, but sending the data back to the BCF results in an error: "Timeout error while sending $rev F1"
If it helps anyone: The solution is to downgrade your java-player, as explained here:

Hi,

your parameters files are very great !!! Thanks a lot. :D

I have a little problem : I upload your config file on the BCF but I can't store on the BCF memory. The Store button is inactive (used for Freestyler) and after each reboot, the BCF become with the standard preset :-((((

How can I store your preset when the Store button off the BCF is desactivated ?

Thanks a lot !
:fs:

hi

Seems you upload the file on Preset 0 this is a Temp Preset..
if you use BCmanager you can upload the file on Preset 1 and it will be saved..

hi this this because there where some update/Refresh issue why the devolper did not implent this feature...

and you need to look at the light in real live so you dont need the blue ball from FS..

Hi Spirit,

could you just give me an overview about the best way to configure SM, please ? as we are limited by the number of pages and so on.

If I well understood we have to create one action by SM, one for movement, one for color, one for gobos. Do we need to create an SM menu just to set the light ON ?

and how do you recommend to manage override buttons, as I fully agreed with you, this is an amazing option to play with.

Thanks for your support

these are the light I have right now :
4 moving head spot,
4 moving head wash,
6 LED bars
9 LED par 64
4 LED par 36
4 sunstrip
1 laser

hi

i allmost use a thumb Rule.. thats Sequence with MORE then 1 step will go into the SM.
and Sequences with only 1 step will go into the Override buttons..
i dont apply this rule to HTP channels..(Dimmer/Intensitie/RGB channels )

so for MH i have these channels on the SM
TILT
PAN
SHAPES
STATIC POSTIONS (P/T)
DIMMER/INTENSITIE
SHUTTER chases
COLOR chases
IRIS chases

Ledpars:
DIMMER/INTENSITIE
RGB chases
RGB static

Sunstrips:
ALL ON DIMMER/INTENSITIE
Chases DIMMER/INTENSITIE
Looks nice with the HTP effect..

and im realy bad with lasers so dont have a Clue to controll this nice.. or yes i do but i use ILDA to controll my lasers..

and i use the Override buttons for..
MH:
Colors
Gobos
Frost
iris
Strobo

but you say "as we are limited by the number of pages and so on."
which pages do you mean and so on?

hi Spirit,

I'm setting up all lights accrodingly your set up.

but I have some questions :
how do you manage the focus ? do you disable channel after you fixed the right value ?

and how the manage the pan tilt from MH accrodingly the place you are I mean :
sometimes one of the MV is in the corner of the bar, or along the wall etc... ? do you create some special sequences for that ?

many thx for your help in advance
fred

Freestyler is really fantastic

just let me know if it is the best way ;-) to do it

hi i allways start over and over each time..
also if i allready did a Show 10 times before..
by the 11st time i will save my show ;)

But i put the Focus on the GOBO sequences.. or/and Iris sequences..
and i dont look if the GOBO is sharp but i look if the BEAM look Nice and sharp..

for the pan/tilt i just make i Perfect with the Shapes or FX
i dont use the Correction Feature (can be found on the FS setup) and i also dont use the MIN/MAX limits but if it works ok for you i dont mind it..

Hum hum FX

Do you know if there is a tuto for this FX tool please ? In this way I will try tonlearn it.

Because if I block the pan/tilt limits the MH is blocked on the limited positions for a certain time, then no really sens ! As we want the lights on the dance floor as much as we can

Many thx Spirit

This FX tool is really fantastic for color chaze

but I have no idea which effect could the better one for movments, if you have an idea, feel free :D

for the "sequence speed" how to say to Freestyler that according to the "SM page" you are (page 1, 2, 3 or 4), for example the rotor #1 will manage the sequence speed of the page 3.

have look the picture below I tried to set up values into Freestyler's midi parameter but I'm wrong.

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/37 ... onfig.png/

And I have no idea how to use HTP effects for sunstrip, I haven't found out any button :(

thx for your help

I believe the zip file 'bcf2000-conf-cb-v1.0.zip' is corrupted. I have tried to download and open it on two different pc's and a Mac, using windows' built-in archive utility, 7zip and Keka (OSX) and none of them will open the file.

Can you please re-upload the file?

edit: Okay, I have manualy created the mapping in b-control and freestyler. Most things are working now, however there's one thing I don't understand. How did you create the 'shift' button in your configuration?

I also have just tried to unzip the downloaded file from the first post (trumpet sounds...), but get "Windows cannot open the folder... the compressed folder is invalid".

Can we get a working version uploaded again here, please?
Thank you!

UPDATE: I did just download and unzip it on my Mac and it all seems good, except the image, which is corrupted.
