Midi to DMX, or changing fixture channels

Post by bckeeping »

Hi Guys,

I would like to make use of the midi-dmx functionality to control the dimmer and frequency channels of a new strobe toy :)
Unfortunately it is currently patched at channels 34 and 35, but the midi to dmx only goes up to channel 19.

I currently have other kit, and a LOT of programming on fixtures that are taking up all of the channels midi-dmx works with.

I guess my question is :

a) is there any way to use midi-dmx with channels higher than 19?
or
b) Is there some way I can move some fixtures around without completely having to re-create all of the sequences and programming I have already done.

Any ideas would be very much appreciated!

Ben

in the newest version of freestyler, midi to dmx channels are freely configureable (you can enter your own dmx adress)

That's brilliant,

I can't believe I didn't realise that, I had assumed that channel referred to the midi channel! :)
Thanks very much for the help :)

Kind Regards
Ben
