After doing a quick gig at the weekend I have a few questions I wonder if anyone can answer?
Firstly I have an odd issue with one of my scans and movements, hold your breath, its a long one.
when playing back a shape one of the scans does not tilt, it only follows the pan part of the shape, while the other does a full circle. If I load the scene into the editor it works perfectly, but when played in a cue it doesnt. There are no problems with chases though, only shapes.... Oh and finally, if I add an extra scan, tell it to clone the funny one and then move the physical device's address onto the new range, this works fine.
Any ideas? it's been driving me crazy.
Right and the other questions were around sound to light and synchronising chases. I tend to use the submasters as a way of combining different movements, colours, shutter chases together and I was trying to use the s2l to trigger tilt kicks, shutters etc at the weekend....
1. If I use the s2l mode on a submaster which has movement chases and shapes in it's list, and change the active one to a shape scene, the shape doesn't run when s2l is enabled on the submaster...
2. I found the s2l module quite processor hungry, so I have been trying to use the excellent "audiobox" tool which can detect tempo and then output a midi note.. I assigned the note to the "manual trigger" button and this seemed to work. However.... on trying to change any submaster to a different cue, the cue fails to load and the lights just stop...
If anyone has any ideas as to how to more effectively get chases to step correctly using s2l, or how to mix s2l scenes with non-s2l scenes (e.g. smooth pans with on the beat tilt kicks, or smooth movements with beat matched shutter chasing) then I would be eternally grateful.
Oh, and coming back to a previous question that I had, has anyone ever used FS with a Wiimote and Glovepie? firstly, it's great fun and I would suggest it to anyone, however currently I am having to use glovepie to output keystrokes which means FS must be in focus all the time. I would rather use midi triggers, but when I do I seem to get odd results with buttons triggering the first time but then ignoring further presses, any idea anyone?
All in all, it's been great fun having a proper go with freestyler and actually using it out. It's a great piece of software with just a few minor niggles

Kind regards
Ben
