Aight peeps,
I've been reading the whole forum about the fanning feauture in the pan/tilt window... but i really don't get it...
So i've got a few questions...
I got 4 movingheads, Futurelight MH 660 with 16bit pan/tilt. All those 4 got a different startingadress and they hang on top of the dancefloor in a row like this:
==[MH1]====[MH2]====[MH3]====[MH4]== (== is truss)
Now the questions,
1) does fanning only work using those patterns already listed in the pan/tilt window of the fixture or does it work as well using like the FX generator when u make cues?
2) do you have to set left-right-middle seperately for each fixture or is it per group or for all fixtures together (i got like 4 scanners as well) ?
3) the fanning is using percentages... how does this work/what does it mean when i change it?
4) what's the difference between offset and fanning? and what is center offset?
5) and how does FS know which fixture is the middle one and which is far left etc???
I know it's a lot but i really don't get it by reading the already answered questions about this topic...
Thanks in advance!

Re: fanning/offset
Hi
I dont have time to go into all of it right now but fanning is used in static positions and not movements.
It will only alter the heads or scans that you have selected and FS works out which one is the middle based on channel number so it may be wrong.
Best way to learn about its use is to play about with it using the 3d vis.
This is not a feature I use and as such Im not an expert on its use. You may find its something you dont really need.
