Ideas for Touchscreen Mode

Post by jmibk »

The last days i have tried to build up a useful touchscreen interface (we talk here about touchscreen2). There i found some things, that can be better...

- As i described in another forum, it would be fine if the keyboard shortcuts also work in touchscreen mode. Now they dont.

- We can maka a beautiful "TAP SYNC" Button. Now you need three taps on it, that it continues with the steps. In the normal interface you have the orange and blue "light" near the tap sync button. This lights would be fine in touchscreen mode.

- for positioning a movinghead or scanner you have two ways: one is put buttons like "tilt up" and "tilt down",... and tap on it for one DMX Step. Second is use a jogwheel to do that. On a touchscreen you can't use them with some precision. I don't come behind that control.
Here some sliders would be helpful instead the wheels. Or, when using wheels it would be great, when you can turn them with the touchscreen as the wheel on a pioneer cdj100 for example - in a circular way. My favourite is a slider ;-)
Additional to that, can we have here the same thing as in the old touchinterface. this xy grid for free positioning in the screen.

- In interface1 (the old one), the dragbars for goborotation for example are tooo tiny. you can't catch them with a touchscreen.

- optimum are a combination of touchinterface2 with the controls of the old interface, but that needs time...
