Importing and exporting fixtures

Post by Praso2009 »

Hi There,
I changed computers so I exported 3 fixture files to a flash drive. Then I tried to import them to my new computer but I get a error that says "Error During Import". Does anybody know why I'm getting this error? I have attached the files.
Thanks,

I cant open your files.. Fixture Creator when i'm opening the pff files.

Have you tried to transfer make new pff files and/or transfer them with another flash drive?

Praso, did you "safely remove" your flash drive? Maybe the files were only partially written to your flash drive, so they're corrupt.

Also, if you're switching computers, you don't need to rebuild your whole setup. Just do a backup on your original FreeStyler system, transfer the backup file to your new system, and use the restore command on your new system to have everything transferred. Everything--including the three fixture files you're trying to transfer--will be packed into that backup file.

Praso2009: The files you posted are corrupt and in fact does not contain data at all (just a lot of zero's, nothing more).

Thats a good one!

But the normal backup routine idea, would be the best to do.
