Re: is it possible to crossfade?
If it's only generic then use static mode instead of transparent. This will force all channels to the recorded value and not only affect the changed ones. Also set the options so it "clears channel values when new clicked".
When creating a 'cue' or a memory, you will need to create a chase with only 1 step.
Let me try and explain.
Say I have 6 PAR 64's.
Static Mode
Open new chase
Set values of PAR's 1, 2, 3 to full
Set required times (make sure fade time and scene time are the same)
Save as 'cue 1'
Click new (all values should then reset to 0)
Set values of PAR's 4 5 6 to full
Set required times (make sure fade time and scene time are the same)
Save as 'cue 2'
Load these into the 'Cue Stack' into the first 2 slots.
When you press play on cue 1, lights 1 2 3 will snap up. When you press play on cue 2 lights 4 5 6 will snap up and lights 1 2 3 will snap off. This is because although you didn't touch the values for 1 2 3 FS will 'capture' them at 0 (as this is what they were when you recorded cue 2) and then force them to 0.
Transparent Mode
Open new chase
Set values of PAR's 1, 2, 3 to full
Set required times (make sure fade time and scene time are the same)
Save as 'cue 3'
Click new (all values should then reset to 0)
Set values of PAR's 4 5 6 to full
Set required times (make sure fade time and scene time are the same)
Save as 'cue 4'
Load these into the 'Cue Stack' into the next 2 slots (or any 2 slots).
When you press play on cue 3 lights 1 2 3 will fade up. When you press play on cue 4 however lights 4 5 6 will fade up but lights 1 2 3 will stay on. This is because although you clicked new, and zero'd the values, you didn't touch them so FS ignores them.
In a theatre setting you are going to need to use transparent mode and make sure all the lights are set to 'fade' when creating scenes. Any values you want to be at 0 though you will have to select the light you want at 0 and drag the level up slightly and then down again (so it says 0 with fade next to it).
When saving save as cue 1, cue 2 etc.
Any blackout cues create by having all values at 0 and make sure each has 'fade' next to it.
Has that helped at all?!
