Upgrading to 3.01

Hello,

Back after a while. I have changed my moving heads so I need to do some re-programming. Time to migrate to 3.01, question whih I didn't see pinned is: can I upgrade configuration, scenes, chases cues etc.. from 2.96j?

Back up your Show from the File Menu.

Also i like to Copy the Program Files\Freestyler Folder to Freestyler_Backup .

Then Upgrade.
If stuff is not there restore backup.

That wont work if you have backup filers from versions earlier than 3!!!

Hi all

Remco is right, backup files from previous versions don't work in version 3, but sequences mode in previous versions can be converted to the new format.
Just open your old sequence in the "Create sequence" window and save it, your sequence is saved in the new format.

Using old files with the new version can make your FS installation corrupt, best solution is to reset FS:

1. open "freestyler.ini" and set "reset"=true
2. start FS and start a new setup.

Thanks, that's what I was afraid of Means recreating all the DMX setup, etc...
I'll try at least to convert manually the sequences as explained, but it also means remapping to cues etc.. uh

If you mean you have replaced your moving heads with other brand or models, then you can't use your pre-made scenes anymore.
The only way that will work is when you (by accident) have moving heads with exactly the same DMX channel definition.

Indeed. And they are quite "special" (continuous pan/tilt rotation with 2 "speed" and 1 special channel to control this), but I also have 2 scanners and a DMX strobe and I don't want to create again everything for them
