UK Interface Supplier

Post by fbnts »

Hi,

I'm looking at getting a new interface but cannot find a stockist in the UK.

Can anyone recommend a UK stockist of a suitable interface (I have previously used Enttec but don't want to wait days - weeks for delivery).

Tom

maplin electronics - www.maplin.co.uk

USB Controlled DMX Interface Kit
only £59.99
SAVE £0.01 was £60.00
Order Code: L62BJ
In Stock*

This is a Velleman Interface. I personaly would recommend getting an Enttec unit over this but if your in a hurry then your local store should have them in stock.

Failing that I have an unbranded one I can sell you for £40. PM me if interested.

Then I hope you don't expect too much from that piece of sh*t?
That thing is so slow, and gets slower the more DMX channels you use and give them a value above 0.
Read this: The DMX Wiki: Velleman VM116/K8062 USB
When all 512 DMX channels are set >0 then the VM116 takes up to more than 600msec to receive its information via its USB connector. Meaning that you have a delay of at least 600msec, and when you are really unlucky and try to change a DMX value at the wrong time, you just might get a delay of 1.2 seconds. If you don't care about this delay, than this is a nice interface to work with. Or if you plan to use just a few devices with few DMX channels than the delay is near zero.
