I am brand new. Am trying to find out if Freestyler will work with an older dimmer pack. I'm not sure if I should ask this here, or at Enttec....
I am wondering if Freestyler will work with an Enttec Pro (or any other USB dongle, for that matter) and run an ETA Ultraplex Model MD410U-40 dimmer pack.
It's an analog/digital dimmer pack, and I'm hoping freestyler will work with it (through the Enttec, or other dongle)
Searched and didn't find any answers.
Thanks.
Roger

Re: Question about Freestyler and dimmer pack
AFAIK the Enttec Pro works fine with Freestyler. (Got a Velleman so I admit I haven't actually tried it.)
Assuming the Dimmer pack is DMX compatible you shouldn't have any problems running it either. Simply create a location in Freestyler that contains a bunch of Generic Par Cans, then make sure that all addresses match your Dimmer pack settings.
Should be fairly simple.

Re: Question about Freestyler and dimmer pack
Enttec Pro works fine with FreeStyler.
Also if your dimmer pack has a DMX input and you know how to give it a DMX address, then it will work okay.
So indeed, that should be simple.
If your dimmer pack has no DMX input, then its far from simple, even quite impossible.

Re: Question about Freestyler and dimmer pack
I found out the ETA Ultraplex MD410U-40 dimmer packs were not DMX compatible. I took it to EMI in Minneapolis (audio/video rental place) and they hooked up a DMX controller to it. Nothing happened. I ended up renting DMX dimmer packs from them, and some software that came with a USB/DMX dongle. Now, to figure out that software (ADJ My DMX).
This will have to do until I build my own Enttec Pro compatible dongle and DMX conrollers, along with LED RGB lighing - and use Freestyler to run it.
Thanks for the help.
