BCF2000 fader directly to dmx output

Post by flash »

hello,

what I want to do is use some faders for direct control of frontlights for the stage.
For example I want to use fader 1 to control dmx channel 1.

When I assign midi external control, I can choose for "MIDI to DMX 1" etc, I thought this was the function I needed.
But when I do this fader 1 to dmx 0, fader 2 to dmx 1, etc....all the fader I adjust only change the values of DMX channel 0.

What am I doing wrong, or is there another way to do this?

I've already assigned fader 7 and 8 to master speed and intensity and that works fine.

There are 4 columns function, Note, page and channel

Function would be midi to dmx 1, note being auto assigned by the fader (click assign notes, click the note field again and move the fader.) Page should be whatever page your using (default 1).
And channel is the dmx channel you want to change. In previous versions it was called something elese i think extra. But all you have to do is type the channel number and press enter.

ok thanks that works fine!

I use my fader for the dmx channel with my ACL effect lighting. But he problem I have now is that i also have an override button to flash with the ACL (so it's a sequence with 1 step= ACL full on)
When I've pressed the button, afterwards I can't control the channel anymore with my fader? Then everytime I have to press " release override button", is this normal?

This will happen when using a manual channel adjustment over a prerecorded scene or sequence.
You would also experience the same if you run a cue or overide button then adjusted a software fader in FS.
Its pretty much the same deal on any lighting board (software or hardware)
The 'Release' button is the way the desk knows that you have finished playing in manual mode, which is what you are doing by directly altering a DMX channel.
There is no way to change it!

Hope that make sense to you.
