Post by madgadget »

I have been making marcos for my laser and I have hit a limit of 150 - is it possible to increase this further?

Its a 16 bit combination. If I could do a 16bit gobo (which I would MUCH prefer) then I would be fine, but I don't believe you can.

A very valid point. However I am just picky with detail I guess. What features this software REALLY lacks is the ability to take a DMX channel associate say 0-155 in a linear fashion, and then the 10 step increments as other presets etc. If your laser is anything like mine then it will be exactly the same. A perfect example is the colour channel where:

0-5 = laser off
6-15 = Green
16-25 = Red
26-35 = Yellow
36-105 = Flash colour (speed 0-70)
106-175 = Random colour (speed 0-70)
176-245 = Wave colour (speed 0-70)
246-255 = Fix colour

I took random selected values for the variable colours, and made a fixed colour palette, but even so its far from ideal I would like to create sliders or something neater for the variable options.

For the gobos where there are 180 or so presets in an ideal world it would be good to make groups within a gobo channel, and have them as menus or something in the software, you could then group all the types of gobo by shape etc.. I however agree with you that many I would probably not use, it just gets to me when something has features that you need to do a workaround to get to them :)

Thing is though, it could be solved so simply by just having the flexibility in the software - whatever that may be.

All you would need is to have a small part of the profile that allowed you to write a custom config for the fixture.
