Magic 3D Easyview is slowly on second screen

Post by LJ Robin »

Hi ;) ,
I use a second screen on my laptop for programming shows with Magic 3D Easyview but when I control my lights with fs the lights are slowly and my laptop is going slow. Also in the live test the lights are in delay. My CPU is then 54% my laptop is a dualcore 5600 and I have a memory of 2048mb.The graphic card has a memory of 256mb it's a ATI Mobility Radeon X 1450.Nothing is running on the background when I using fs.I also changed my resolution on screen 2 to 800x600 (screen 2 is 17inch and screen 1 , 17inch widescreen).I changed the resolution of 3D Easyview to medium and it still the same.I also changed the settings of my graphic card to low and Easyview still get slowly.
I don't know any solution anymore  so I hope you will help me :|

Bye and see you (hope so) (sorry for bad english)

Same with me, everything is jumpy.

I'm just guessing it is to do with the fact it takes time for FS to transfer the data to a second screen - as it has to calculate this data and send it down another cable.

What I do is just simply put 3d view on the laptop and stick FS on the second screen and it solves the problem :)

@ Tom
Hi, Thanks this are solve the problem I have no delay anymore on my shows but when I use the Bezier than the lights going crazy I have 2 scanners of JB Systems and when I flip the X,Y after a while they are running at the same way and X,Y still flipped(I test this live and offline)The same problems are with other lights to but I give an example. So this is a weird thing, but on the shows there are no delay's or something so for me it isn't a problem anymore because I only need this for shows.

!!!!!This is an edit from 10 minutes later: @Tom Thanks again for the solution but it is not so good that solution I use 4 martin MX scanners and 4 moving heads form JB Systems at the same time in cue , if I use less than it is no problem like 4 scanners alone or 4 moving heads but together it is slow like before. And then I don't use everything I have 2 scanners from JB Systems,1 laser from JB Systems,Dualscan from JB Systems,LE 550 from Stageline,12 Pars,4blinders I don't won't to try this together because I think the my laptop is going to explode :P
@ Matt

When I run fs without 3D easy view everything is fine and my CPU is only about 5 to 10 %

If somebody has an better idea post

Thnx for the anwsers and sorry for my bad English ;)

Some times its your 3d card... You have to remember on a second display your 3d card is doing twice the work to render both sides try decreasing the resolution in euther magic 3d or your second monitors resolution

what is the memory size of your graphics card?? go to control panel/display/last tab (cant off hand remember what it was) then click adapter properties or properties this tells you your memory for your graphics card

Hi LJ Robin,

What sort of environment have you created in Magic? I had that problem on my desktop computer - 256mb Graphics, 1gb RAM, 2.8GHz. I found that things got laggy the larger the environment in Magic. This problem has nothing to do with freestyler. Have you tried moving the camera view side to side fast? is there lag when you do this when there are no lights operating? I had this problem when I started assigning my own textures to objects in Magic, I resolved it when I realised the average texture file size was about 100kb, and my textures were about 1-2mb. I scaled down my custom texture file sizes in Magic and upgraded my computer to 512mb graphics, 3gb RAM and 4.6GHz dual core.

Hope this helps
