Chauvet Q-Mix

Post by drukar »

Greetings all,

I know the Q-Mix has been discontinued some time back, but they are still kicking strong and I just picked one up. What caught me by surprise however, is that even though this fixture has been around for awhile, I can't seem to find .pff on it, to load up. So of course I tried to set up the profile myself, several times, and I'm finally to the point where I'm admitting out loud that I'm probably not going to get this functioning on my own merit. I will attach what I have done, as well as the product documentation. Any assistance would be very, very appreciated.

Cheers!

Well, your doing good actually. I'm wondering what is not working out for you.
You've entered 11 gobo's. I think its better to enter at least 28 (1 for each gobo description in the manual).
You might enter more to split up things like "Strobe: Slow>Fast" in 3 or more "gobo's". Choose as many as you like. I mostly prefer 3 or 5 steps.
The same goes for the bouncing gobo's and the "Scroll: Slow>Fast"

Is see that there is an error in the manual:
DMX channel description 2 has all the same values (000 - 005) for all these functions:
Gobo Wheel Rotation
Static
Rotation Counter-Clockwise: Slow > Fast
Static
Rotation Clockwise: Slow > Fast

Thats impossible. So you should try out what values are what.

Thank you all. As it was my first coding I was totally winging it. It sounds as if I was doing far better than I thought I was.

I won't get it done this week, but when I do I will upload it to share.

Cheers!
