DMX Terminator

Post by djmaq »

In the "DMX Terminator How to" I found this link

http://www.emanator.demon.co.uk/bigclive/dmxtest.htm

Is it right that the tester (with two LEDs(right picture)) works also as Terminator?

If the tester is not going to be used as a terminator, then the shunt resistor across pins 2+3 can be omitted, making the unit simpler to construct and allowing the network voltage to float a little higher.
I guess the one with LED lights indeed is a teminator too after I've read this sentence.
