help needed to produce a clear output and override a sequence

Post by GLAZEBURYMUSIC,UK »

hi there,
i am new to this forum and need some pointers for programming with regard to a override sequence that will override a current output.

I'am creating a sequence for 5 moving light fixtures for a Halloween party game, where the 5 lights produce spots of random colours . - ive got that sorted but i now need a set of 5 override sequences that clear the existing colours and fire up just one light to highlight a white spot in one of the previous colour spots ! - the concept is a bit like a spotlight version of musical chairs where the people would select and stand on a coloured spot and when the music stops by clicking on, for argument’s sake an override button the colour sequence would stop and a single white spot would show to determine who is out !!.
so what i need is a cue of which clears the current output and goes to the required scene. at the moment i can not get the output cleared unless i use a clear/reset cue command but surely there is a way of being able to have a button programmed to override the current output with a another set of dmx values ?. any help would be grately appreciated , many thanks in advance.

Try this:

Place your chase in the Cue window. Make sure the sequence is set to loop.

Create a 1 step sequence for each light. The sequence will turn all lights off, set the color to white for the light and the intensity to full. Place these sequences in the OVERRIDE button window.

Start the chase from the Cue window.

When desired click on one of the OVERRIDE buttons. This will turn off the lights off and turn a white light on the selected position. When you want to resume the chase click on the same OVERRIDE button to turn it off.

Glad to help and that it worked.

Before I sent you my first reply I set up the chase and the 5 white spot sequences. Don't be discouraged it took you a couple of attempt It took me a few attempts also.
