Hi all
Im using a 3 ch dmx decoder to try and control an led strip through freestyler. I have the decoder and LED strip separately powered and can use the decoder in standalone mode to control the led strip (e.g. red, green, blue or strobe etc). However I cannot get freestyler to control it - im using a usb to dmx device, and I matched the dipswitch address suggested by freestyler. I made a generic 3 channel fixture too.
Is it something to do with the fixture settings? or how freestyler is set up?
thanks
Trouble with LED strip and freestyler

Have you managed to control any other fixtures? What does work?
There is a lot of things that go wrong as a new guy.
Fixture mode.
Fixture addressing.
DMX interface drivers.
Cable Polarity.
fixture profile.
and using the software incorrectly.

Re: Trouble with LED strip and freestyler
I have managed to control a laser fixture with the same setup. I guessing the issue is with the fixture profile and it not matching up to the decoder, but who knows? I did manage to control the led strip for a short period of time but haven't been able to recreate that miracle.
