MIDI foot controller suggestion needed!!!

Hello all,
Can anyone suggest what would be the easiest midi foot pedal to use with the latest version of Freestyler? I've been trying to dial in an FCB1010 but after hours trying to make it work, it just isn't happening. It needs to be a foot pedal. Suggestions?
All I really want to be able to do is start and stop sequences and blackout.
