Hi! I am having an issue with Freestyler and my uDMX interface. I love this thing, I think I paid like $20 for it and it has worked awesome for me in the past. I've even used it in the music portion of a church service with all sorts of moving heads and led fixtures when my Jands Vista S3 was having problems. Recently, though, I broke it out of storage to do uplighting for a wedding, shouldn't be an issue so I thought. I'm using the latest version of Freestyler and what's happening is the lights are not fading smooth AT ALL. I'm using a combination of Chauvet Slimpar64's and those cheap eBay par 86 rip offs of the Colorsplash Jr. It doesn't even have to be a chase, I'll select multiple units and in unison, all of them will change colors exactly when I tell them too but they skip over colors and don't fade at all. No flickering, just no fading. I'm going to be pretty frustrated if I have to go to church and uproot the Vista so I'd really like to resolve this. Also I've already lowered the refresh rate and tried the version of Freestyer that worked in the past. It's running on an HP desktop with an AMD Phenom 2 X4 3.2ghz with 4gbs of ram on usb2.0. What am I doing wrong?
Regards,
Jonathan

What happens if you try plugging the uDMX interface directly into one of your chauvet lights - with no other output attached to that light? This test will determine if you need to look at your cables/fixtures/termination, or the dmx signal itself.

Same result. I put a Chauvet behind my monitor and videoed what's happeningspud1511 wrote:What happens if you try plugging the uDMX interface directly into one of your chauvet lights - with no other output attached to that light? If you don't mind me asking is there a reason you lowered the refresh rate?
I usually need to use the full 40Hz my interface (dmxking micro) can do to try and keep things nice and smooth.

Wow, I feel like an idiot now. I jacked the refresh rate up to 100hz and it works fine now. I guess stupid is as stupid does. Thanks for the helpspud1511 wrote:If you don't mind me asking is there a reason you lowered the refresh rate?

How did you adjust the refresh rate? I can't find out how to do that.
