beginner - fixtures (led par) not responding

Post by gerlee »

hi, Ive recently bought 8x stairville led par56 and a eurolite usb-dmx512-pro interface and am not getting any response from the fixtures.

Im running freestyler 3.6.33 on windows 10 and have the driver for the eurolite interface installed. as far as I can tell, the correct coms port and fixtures are selected in setup. the interface shows as present under my computer's connected devices.

I was expecting that when I connected the fittings they would blackout until prompted, however the lights stay on (they work fine on their internal chases and sound to light settings) and do not respond to any commands - the changes are showing in show output but the fixtures remain unresponsive.

I have changed fixtures, dip settings/fixture nos, usb ports and dmx cables and the problem persists.

the obvious thought is that, as the only constant, the interface is faulty but before I arrange for a replacement is there anything anyone can think of that I may have missed.

thanks in advance

ger

Make sure you have selected your usb interface within freestyler. Also I have seen fixtures that must have a dip switch in a certain position in order for DMX to function
