Cuelist doesnt play chases correctly

Post by lukastheonly »

Edit: After a intensive testing weekend I rewrote the whole topic.

Hello everybody :fs:

I have created a complete show for an upcoming gig(Chases, Cues Submaster and Cuebuttons). Everything worked fine. In my DMX universe there are about 20 fixtures and they are all connected via a Velleman VM116 USB interface.
On Friday, we bought 6 LED Par 64 lights. I altered my chases and added the new Pars. I can controll the lights manually but somehow when I am playing my chases in the cuelist window, the new lights wont do a thing. When I am playing the altered chases on an override button then they seem to work. Another very interesting thing is when I give the Pars manually a value and then start the cue they fade to black. So there is a signal but a wrong signal.

This doesnt only occur on altered chases. I tried to create new chases in new locations with the lights but they dont work in the cuelist window either.

Last weekend I probably spent 5 hours trying to fix the problem. This is what I found out so far:
I thought that maybe my Location or my FS is corrupted, so I connected the USB Interface to my Laptop and created a simple setup with only the 6 LED Par 64 lights(All fixtures were connected, but I only added the 6 new lights as fixtures in FS). It worked as it should.
I reinstalled FS on my main computer, DIDNT LOAD THE LOCATION and created a small setup with just the 6 Par 64 lights. It worked.
I decided to create all the sequences again. Seems like a lot of work but it could actually do the trick. However as soon as I added all the fixtures I had the same problem as I had in the beginning. Could it be that some FS fixtures are interfering with each other?
Here is my exact setup:
8x Stairville Flood Panel 150 on channels 5,9,13,17,21,25,29,33
4x Stairville Led Par 56 on channels 40, 45, 50, 55
2x Staiville Led Par 56 10 mm(Fixture downloaded from the FS Support Forum) on channels 60,67
6x Eurolite Par 64 on channels 80, 58, 90, 95, 100, 105
USB Interface: Velleman VM116

Summary
- I can control the lights manually but when I am creating a chase and play it in the cuelist window, then one type of lights doesnt work. However the whole chase does work when I play it on an override button.
- After reinstallation of FS, the lights worked as they should. But as soon as I added all the other fixtures I had the problem again.

I am really greatfull for every advise I can get! Thank you very much.

Last weekend we figured out a way to solve the problem.

When comparing the fixture profile with other LED Par fixture profiles we noticed, that all the other fixtures had an intensitiy channel while the problem fixture had a shutter channel. We altered the fixture and Voila... it worked.

Everything is woking now and I am really glad. However in my opinion there still is a huge bug in the software when it comes to playing cues. We only figured out a solution(which involves altering original fixture profiles).
